Good deal if you have 10K laying around these days. But you will be taxed at the end of the year for this. So you are not really getting $250 in full but to share with your Uncle.

i was looking to leave scottrade anyway. so this is great. and the costco promotion prices on everything are superb. I give this 2 thumbs up.

Still a good deal for anyone who is trying to open an account to save such as a CD. You can't even get $250 with 18months lock in period. The rates are so low that you are lending them almost for free.

$10K must stay for 6 months...

but suppose I have that $10K with ING making 0.9%,
i.e. $45 in six months, this is like making 5%,
assuming sharebuilder pay 0.1 % or similar...

I called ING. You DEFINITELY need a promo code,
and the OP link does not prefill one as it should,
