Not bad if this is the MPR you're looking for. Problem for me is buying 18 months of filters in FOUR different sizes adds up to some serious coin.

$93 after tax and coupon for the 18x30x1 size that I needed but since I had to look at my filthy, furry, gross current filter to find the size, I realized I needed to buy no matter the cost. Good reviews over the cheaper ones.

Can someone explain in layman terms why I would need or want these over the current type that I see over my vent?
I have this one and if I want more, they're only going to cost me $46 for 12 filters shipped. Flanders Precisionaire EZ Flow Filters: http://www.furnacefiltersinc.com/.../10155.htm EDIT: And upon further search, they even sell on Amazon for cheaper here (~$21): http://www.amazon.com/20X20x1-Fib...ow+Filters From what I understand, my current filters need to be changed every month, while the 3M filters need to be changed every 3 months. Even accounting for the difference in time frame, if I pro-rate the costs of the 3M filters from 18 months to 12 months to match the time, the cost of the 3M is still $40.70 for 12 months which is about double the price of the current one in my vent. The Filtrete filters trap particles down to the micron level which is great for homes where someone has allergies. And the Filtretes have a recommended 90 day replacement schedule. |
