I work in the quality industry and truth is that a huge portion on costume jewelry is made using heavy metals (lead / cadmium) due to the easy access of materials and molding properties. You get for what you pay for with some risks. I bought one of these but I would not gift to a child or someone who you are concerned about exposure. Truth is as long as you do not stick in your mouth or swallow you most likely will be fine from normal exposure in wear. Also you can always coat in a layer of sealant or clear-coat to seal the unknown contents.
LOL! This thread is a 'hoot' to read! Y'all are delightful!
So THIS is what they're doing with all that toxic e-junk we ship to them!
Did it really ship free? I've had problems with Amazon Marketplace before. Amazon's response was that NOTHING SHIPS FREE (even when it says free shipping) unless it is sold by Amazon.
No trouble here ~ in fact, I don't remember ever having trouble getting Amazon free shipping (unless the deal had expired while I wasn't paying attention). Whoever told you that was wrong, I think.
Yeah, I bought 1 ~ toxic metal & all. (Glad I didn't buy it, a few days ago, when they were, what?, 30 cents more.) I'll probably just hang it on something (not wear it), if I like how it looks, in person.
Maybe the thread title should be 'Cute ways to poison your loved-ones'... Btw, has anybody ever checked their flatware with a Geiger counter?
