Thread Details

Don't know if it qualifies as a hot deal or how much it's close to Amex charge or serve cards

Saw about this on CNN video
http://money.cnn.com/2012/10/08/p...index.html

For me the deal would be to have one or couple as a virtually virtual card if they won't request SS# of course

If they're trying to market as free checking replacement, there is plenty of free checking and I recommend credit unions

How is it different from Amex Prepaid Card?

https://www.americanexpress.com/u.../home.html

I think Amex is trying to launch similar cards with different names.

i think you mean "debit card." walmart currently has credit cards back by GE and DISCOVER. this is supposed to be an effort to rollover greendot from my understanding.

$5 fee for an account set up kit

$2 fee for a deposit from a debit card.

there is a $2 fee for using other network ATMs; third-party network fees may apply.

You should change the title. It's not a credit card. There are several articles about this card online today. I am so in if it's completely anonymous. The other cards mentioned in the thread all require SS# at this point. The only card of which I know that doesn't is the AMEX gift card from places like CVS, Walgreens, etc. Any other suggestions?

Your amex is their credit card or prepaid?

Prepaid/giftcard amex doesn't seem to work at redbox, they've blocked them.

Why wouldn't they block them? People can rent 20 movies then keep them all without having to pay more than the initial 1 day fee. So I'm sure red box lost a ton of movies when or if they ever allowed it.

Haha...this was many years ago before Redbox was even SD popular. I'm not talking about the jackasses that steal the discs and trade them into GameStop or anything..I would sometimes forget to return a movie a day or two later and realized they couldn't pull more money from my prepaid card.

All good.......................Yeah I always wondered why my Redboxs have no decent games. Also, when a new game is released, Craigslist is flooded with disc only games. Then you hear the stories of the scanned print out of the disc in the case.
