Need an .edu email account.

I'm a technically a student, but my school doesn't have an email system. I want to purchase a couple books online and saw it was cheaper to do on a site, but it requires an .edu email address.

Is there a college/site that allows you to join, get an edu email for free or very cheap. Like some random cheap course, that allowed you to qualify for student status and get an address, that you can use for discounts etc...

I happened to find something about http://californiacolleges.edu/ anyone have any experience with them?

I think that needs you to be a student. Are you saying that it has random cheap classes that would work?

actually let me qualify what I mean by cheap is FREE Smilie or within $5

their course prices are
Tuition
$76/credit hour for residents
$317/credit hour for non-residents

my local community college is better at $46 per unit , yeah again not free lol.

Call and ask them, I know with other programs you can send a copy of your student ID/ bill in.

Thanks, the college one I just finished, I didn't pay for, so can't contact them in regards to that. The other is a self study course and not affiliated with a college, more like a professional licensing exam thing.
