I'm in Riverside so I guess I should give this a try. Anyone know how long it will take to receive the Kindle, it would make a great bday gift for a friend whose bday is 2 weeks away...I didn't see it in the fine print.
Edit: Reread the fine print. Code will be sent within 90 days. Maybe if they are quick it could be a Christmas gift... Last edited by ibleedbloo; 10-10-2012 at 12:35 AM.. |

Ok here are few questions if someone can answer?
1) Do we open account online or go to the bank? 2) Do they give the option to choose between kindle & ipod touch? 3) Lastly can some one show me the pics/fine print that they are giving these item. Seriously, I cannot see anywhere about them giving these item nor their is any expiration date ?? I mean do we need to take any flyer to bank to show them "hey, I want this promotion"? Thanks

2) I was assured over the phone that you could choose the Kindle Fire HD (7") or iPod Touch (16 GB, not the newest version). 3) I had trouble finding the page that explained the promo on their website. It seemed as if it was hidden and they didn't want people to know about it (even though they are playing ads on the radio for it here in Colorado). Then I realized that they just don't want people who use the AdBlock to know about the promo. Seriously, go to this page [efirstbank.com] without AdBlock enabled and you'll see a big banner at the top of the page that says you can get a free gift. Then open the same page with AdBlock enabled, and you'll see the baner advertizing the free gift. Oh, and the fine print at the bottom of the page just says it's available for a "Limited time" so I guess that means until they run out of Kindles. ![]() Spoiler alert: If you try to qualify for this promo using the direct deposit option, it has to be from a payroll or government office. So transferring the money to yourself doesn't work. And pay particular attention to the words "greater than" because I set up a deposit for exactly $300 and found out today that I haven't qualified for the free gift yet because it hast to be one deposit totally more than $300. Seriously--a deposit of $301 == free gift, but a deposit of $300 even == NO GIFT FOR YOU! (Even though I swear the rep on the phone told me it just had to be $300.) At least they called me to tell me that I hadn't yet qualified while I still have time to do something about it. |

Anyways thanks OP, just signed up. I plan on just depositing a couple hundred and using bill pay a few times. Reading the rest of the fine print really doesn't make them look like a bank that is much better than Wells Fargo, same old crappy interest rates, huge overdraft fees, tons of fees for a bunch of other random crap (hell even $10/yr for the debit card), so I won't be setting up my direct deposit with them and will just close the account after 6 months.

The cost of the gift is considered a bonus that can be revoked if the account is closed within six months of opening. |
