I went to post a thread after I checked for all great deals--I saw some, but couldn't get them in my cart quickly enough. There was a 17R SE w/ GT 650M for $729 - 20% at one point. It was 1600x900 too, which I prefer since it gives a 50% fps boost over 1080p and can fit plenty on the screen.

1080p is a must for me. Also the <$900 ones usually have i5 cpu, no SSD and <1TB hard drive. Still a good deal tho and I see them pop up every few minutes. Just keep refreshing.

I'm still running a 1680x1050 screen at home. I had a 1920x1080 at work and just don't see where it's better. I'm lucky in that I guess since it agrees with my wallet.

$583 (plus tax) for 17R SE 3rd Gen i5 + GT 650M w/ 1600x900 -- I got it

That can be beat, but not by much. And I'll be much happier than with the $383 A6-3420M + 6650M that I have now.
