Need a video card recomendation

Hey all! Looking to get back into PC games, the only thing I dont have is a good video card. I have a 8800 GTS right now but with my 2560x1600 resolution monitor and the new games, it obviously doesnt work.

I've bee out of the game for a while now and would like some recomendations. Ideally I'd like to spend $200 or less but not more than 300. Let me know if you think anything will fit my needs. I play FPS games and thats about it.

You sure your power supply and motherboard can accommodate $300 video card?

Pretty sure it will, I have a core i7 board, cant recall offhand what brand etc, but I know its got 2x pci x16 or whatever it is. The power supply, I think should be good.

I did a search for cards from $150 to $300, all manufacturers, 256 bit interface, 1-2 GB of GDDR5 Video Ram, and here are the Amazon results. Now in that $150 to $300 range you're going to get new and refurbished and what is listed in the search is not necessary the only price depending on whether you want new or refurbed.
