Seems like a good deal even compared to outlet prices. This is new and I find buying outlet a hassle with gift cards.

[QUOTE=rahd001;53847424]Who spends $500 planning on playing the latest games?
I've seen a few lappy's come around with a nice AMD A8 chip alongside dedicated 640M graphics for the $500 range. Few and far between, but there are OUTSTANDING laptop deals out there at the $700 price point for gaming. Agreed
I bought this laptop new from amazon in April. I have had multiple problems with the motherboard. First the mic did not work so I sent it in to get it fixed. Next it came back with only 4gb of RAM. After they sent the next stick of RAM, that RAM slot on motherboard did not work (with either stick of RAM) so I sent it back. Next I got it back and there is no sound working so I sent it back. Currently after part being on hold for past two weeks, laptop is being sent back. Now I have to schedule a time with a Dell rep to fix it at my place.
Waste of time and money. Dell won't even give me money back for the price drop between when I got it and now and only used it for 2.5/6 months.
Horrible Service from Dell Support
Picked up a refurb 14z Ultrabook with 2nd gen i3, 500 GB HDD with 32 GB SSD mSATA card, 6 GB RAM for $410 shipped from the 25% off Outlet sale last week. It is due to arrive Friday. A little weary with some of the reviews. But seems like a good deal IF the machine is relatively trouble free!
I have this computer.. Bought it almost a year ago - got a good deal for $380ish.. anyway I seriously love this computer.. I also have a 15R Special Edition with a 3rd generation I7 processor..
The 14z is a great computer.. It is relatively light -- around 4.5 lbs - if IIRC.. it is thin, yet it is still sturdy.. I think $500 --even though I got it for cheaper -- is a solid price for this computer.. Also the biggest selling point for me is the long battery life.. I usually can get around 6 hrs on it (that's give or take - I've never timed it to get a precise number)...
The 15R SE only gets around 2 hours and it is like 6.5 lbs or something - super heavy, not portable, not as well made and it has a craptastic battery life.. I use this computer as a replacement for my desktop so the cons don't bother me..
For people who travel a lot - the 14z is a good option because it is so easy to carry... I haven't had one problem with the 14z - it has been a dream machine and I am VERY happy that I bought it..
It was 429$ @ BB. Some people have been saying it has been going in and out of stock. This was a great deal! Love this laptop is types good, speakers sounds great, screen looks great. I paired it with a 140$ Intel SSD 330 240GB and it is speedy!
