DISH network Free NBA League Pass - YMMV

I called Dish about my displeasure about not being able to watch any Laker games on Dish network since they don't carry the Time Warner Sports Channel. I got to retentions / loyalty and the rep didn't quite understand the whole situation about TWC carrying Laker games now. I told him there was a preseason game on and he tried to find the channel that it was on. Then I said it may be on NBA league pass. After some talking he offered to put the League Pass on my account so that I would be able to see the game. ( I know that eventually TWC and Dish are going to make an agreement anyway) Well I told him that it still wasn't on and he let me keep the NBA league pass. I told him that I am just going to also order time warner basic for me to watch the games. He then offered me $10 off / month as well to help with the costs. I told him that i have to pay TWC $30 a month but that was the most he could offer.
So I got free NBA league pass and $10 off month for 6 months.
I'm not going to really order TWC because hopefully they'll sign with DISH anyway.
As always YMMV. May be good to try to get NBA league pass (laker fan or not)
