Odd, I was just yesterday thinking about making a board game about getting the best deal on internet service. Working with Comcast is much like a game, although things happen too randomly to be a great game. For the past few years I've had a contact in Comcast that always tries to hook me up with the best deal around, but for some reason things never work out right. I've been on the same deal maybe six months now, and I haven't been charged the same amount twice.

Call and tell them you need to terminate your account. They will ask for your reason to terminate. Moving usually gets the job done. You will need to return their equipment if you are using theirs. Get your new equipment before you try this to minimize downtime. Call them up after a few days to setup new account. Use another name and number to call. |

Question for the folks who have gotten in on a deal like this for Comcast: Do you receive a confirmation (email or letter) that states the terms of your signup (ie. price per month/ internet service level / lenght of promotion) before you are actually connected?
I really don't want to get a surprise X months down the road with a crazy bill spike. Thanks |

For others who were told by Comcast CSR that the $19.99 price is not available, you can try to double check through http://www.comcastspecial.com/ or http://www.comcastoffers.com/ . They may only have a 6-month offer at that price for your area. If you don't mind dealing with rebates, the offer for FAR device(s) may also be interesting compared to renting. Will Google Fiber ever be generally available in SF Bay Area (not just in a certain university campus)? |

To them, a household is a customer. Of course, you can hide the info that your spouse isn't your spouse. |

Point is, even their reps don't really care about it. To them, a new account is a new account. |
