1. v. an action that doubles a previous big action, or raises it to a large degree. He rented a military Hummer for the woods, but then I rented a Tank. That was a boivin. ( in order to qualify for a boivin, the original action must be big too.)
The origins can be traced to an Michigan attorney, but from there specific origins run into secrecy due to laws of whivsiv (what happens in vegas...) and bbh (bro's before ho's)
seems like a good deal to me on an entry level guitar. seems perfect for that little shredder
Hey OP, you seem to always post great guitar stuff --- i am in the market for a new guitar (electric). Growing up i always played metal and favorite band was metallica, so for a long time i played with ESP/LTD guitars with floyd rose trems. I've sold off all my old guitars now, and now more like to play jazz/blues/regular rock stuff (with the occassional metal here and there). Also am really sick of the locking bridge so no more floyd rose / kalher / edge bridges for me.
Any recommendations on guitars and/or when is the best time to buy? Are there usually great black friday deals on mid-level guitars or, like laptops, are they usually reserved for lower end stuff? Would really like to snag a PRS, have always dreamt of owning one. Budget is 400-500, but willing to go higher (700) if the guitar justifies it.
Hopefully this is still in-stock in the morning when my pay check posts, because I will buy it.
I will have to pass though if I am included in the "some military shipments may cost more" category. I've been wanting to get a guitar for years and want this one, but not if shipping is crazy.
Edit: And after looking at a couple reviews, it looks like the bulk of these are made in Korea. Which sounds good to me. I don't know too much about guitars and which ones from where sound the best, but after living there for a little bit, I learned that Koreans make some quality stuff.
Not that it would matter to someone who would use the word 'ching chong' on a public forum; as far as planetboom is concerned, they are probably all the same anyway. Chinese, Korean...who can tell anyway, mirite?
I DON’T BASH the deal! I just wanted to make my point.
…but I have seen some very high quality products come out of China…
... They have some very skilled luthiers who make guitars that sell for over $1,000 here.
Yes, you can buy a Chinese Guitar for $1000 and 3 years later reduce its value to $300-400 on the used market. Why don’t you buy a use Martin Guitar for $1000 and 3 years later you can unload on eBay for more (say $1200-1300).
Guitars sound better as they age.
Many beautiful stringed instruments have been crafted in China...
But what’s about how it sounds, that’s importance!
