There's little chance than you have good enough T-Mobile HSPA+ coverage in the middle of nowhere to watch a Netflix movie. Are people doing that with T-Mobile's new truly unlimited data plan? Otherwise you're limited to 5GB per month -- not that many netflix viewings.

Either way, the phone's processor won't be the bottleneck. The Internet Sharing / Wifi Tethering is fast, if you have the coverage for it. I've tethered an older Windows Phone at about 3.5Mb/s, which is the average coverage speed of my area.

I can't speak to the lag issue in gaming, but with any kind of action or shooter game where reaction time is critical, you're not going to have an ideal experience.

I don't know how t-mobile will handle all the "unlimited abusers" when they launch their LTE next year......

I wouldn't be surprised if their unlimited plan gets axed next year, or implement some system and knock out all that illegal tethering

I have a friend that uses his T-Mobile tethered Android phone as his primary internet. His plan allows tethering for a $10 additional charge, which he does not pay. The only annoyance is that he had to use a user-agent changer plugin for Firefox, which sometimes causes rendering issues. Everything looks normal using Chrome, though. Is there more of a crackdown with their truly unlimited plan? I know they don't sanction tethering on it whether you're willing to pay for it or not. Was just wondering if they imposed any restrictions that you know of. Perhaps threatening emails at 10 or 20GB? =P

As far as i'm aware tmobile has done very little to deter unsanctioned tethering, this is pretty much true across the board for all carriers. As your friend has already demonstrated there are ways around this "issue". I know people across all 4 major carriers who tether, and not a single one pays for it.

Probably why ATT and Verizon axed their unlimited plans, finally put their foot down from all that network abuse......

LMAO T-Mo has the SIII brand new for 549, and WalMart was trying to get people to pay that for the S2 for their Straight Talk service...

Edit: You can get a brand new HTC Inspire 4G for like 30 dollars more, and it's on par with the S2. Go figure.

I have a HTC radar and the only this I miss from using WP7.5 to for say android and ios is really with some of the game apps. Most major app Chase bank, BOA, Netflix, evernote, PayPal are there already. What sucks too is that I'm missing the Nokia's exclusive apps and the Mint app.

Also, to those wondering you can use this phone without a data plan just as long.you disable data network.

Edit: forgot to mention that the Xbox lives games are very unique.

Please note that the Lumia 710 uses a micro-SIM. If your current phone uses the "standard" size mini-SIM, you may not be able to easily switch back and forth between the two phones. For size reference, the iPhone 4 uses a micro-SIM, the iPhone 5 uses a nano-SIM.

mini-SIM > micro-SIM > nano-SIM (where > means bigger)

t-mobile have indeed added more filters to catch unauthorized tethering, for example *some* people can no longer tether via rooted phone. Some reported that they are still ok, but I suspect it's just a matter of time. More and more loophole are being closed daily.
