People defending the mouse in this thread are an hilarious spectacle. It's the classic techboy behavior of protecting against any regret for getting a toy if it's already gotten. The fact that half or so of the people chiming in have had shitty experiences with this obvious design flaw means that...oh, I don't know, maybe there's a problem. Ya think?

after reading your post, I was expecting most of the thread to be talking about how bad it is since apparently half of the people claim that it was bad.

I went through about 4/5 of the thread and only found a handful of posts (if even that) discussing the negatives of the mouse.

in fact, the vast majority of the posts are people who are praising the mouse.

The impression was from one day's email digest but is that really the issue, most-versus-many? Why are consumers so often anxious to believe a product is "fine" when there are floods of complaints evincing an obvious design flaw (or two, now that squealing is just as prevalent as the mouse button problem)? Seems like a fruit of the poisoned tree these days: that everybody wants an equality of surface perfection regardless of what-it-is.

People used to fight harder against mistakes.

bitter much?! what if these were returned to the manufacturer b/c new ones were released and the manufacturer cared so much about their vendors that they took back the batch instead of making them eat the costs?!

what if these sat on a shelf for such a longtime the battery went uncharged and when someone finally bought one, these are $100 mice they tend to sit, the battery was bad? the mouse was little to not damanged/used and the battery was replaced fairly easily and offered up for refurbs.

seriously, the previous questions were rhetorical, why would you bash logitech? they are known as one of the most innovative and customer oriented tech companies out there. you speak like you're smart, but you act like an idiot. what did you major in, a doctorate in Literature?

I have no opinion on the product, but when it comes to quality control, it is a game of numbers. To argue otherwise is to believe that your opinion merits more value than the rest of the people. I don't think you should downplay the opinions of those who have enjoyed their mouse. Their opinion warrants just as much merit as your own.

At the end of the day - you have your opinion, and other people have theirs.

I think it's great that you want to warn people of the issues of the mouse - but you should do it without putting others down and let people decide what they want for themselves.
