It seems to be a pretty common problem. I tend to hear high frequencies more than most people, so this is a deal-breaker for me as well unfortunately.

alright going with SD public opinion and ordered 1....

still feel $50 too much spent for a mouse, may be its just me being on SD all time

25 off 75. amazon has this for $50, whats the point in spending money in a coupon to match it to the going price?. unless on a whim staples will give you back more than what you paid, very slim and would unapply the coupon unless you buy more crap.

I own this mouse and I wouldn't buy another one.

It only takes 1 AA battery, which means the battery needs to be charged or changed out more frequently, plus the signal gets weak when the batt gets low.

That's what the USB cable is for. Personally I have a bunch of Eneloops and I charge via an external charger, but the battery lasts a week+ of heavy use.

I would buy this mouse, but I'm still using my Revolution MX, and my brother gave me his Revolution MX when he upgraded. I agree with some here that the Revolution MX is the best mouse I've ever used, largely due to the automatic-switching scroll wheel.
However, both of the Revolutions that I have developed the double-click problem in the left button. I took one apart, and just replaced the switch with one from a cheap HP mouse. Working flawlessly now. I will do the same to the second Revolution, then keep it as a backup.

People talking about issues with these things must smash their mice around or something.

I've got a OG MX1000 from damn near 10 years ago and that thing STILL works. Better yet, the original battery still holds a couple days worth of charge!

I just gave away my MX1100 of 3 years with a computer that I sold.

I have a 5 year old G7 sitting on my desk.

And I have a Performance MX I bought a month ago from Amazon. I'll be buying this $50 one and returning it with my $70 receipt.

So you can swap out the included battery and use any battery of your choice?

oh yeah if you guys are wondering about the battery, this comes with 1 sony eneloop battery (original)

it comes with a sony eneloop. the battery in my mouse says made in japan sony eneloop. its a really nice mouse. ive dropped this from my desk tons of times and its still going strong.. if you are on slickdeals or the pc 18+ hours a day then the battery life is about almost 3 days, if you use the pc from 2 -5 hours a day the battery lasts like 7 -10 days and still goes at 1 bar remaining. Hope that helps.. it comes with a nice baggy with a usb extender 1 eneloop battery the mouse and a micro usb cable.

Isn't it better to wait 'til BF? I want to get this too, but $50 is a lot for a mouse.

Having said that there are alternatives. Logitech's M705 is sort of the Performance's mouse little brother. There's also the Anywhere MX.

About the negative comments in the wik...I think that's just a bad case of Logitech's QC. Their gaming mouse, G500, is a great mouse, but people also complain quite a bit about its QC.
