I own one...its freaking AMAZING. Looks like they have the prices switched...the regular size is prized at the normal XL price while the XL shows ~69...

We have been needing 2 good "car camping" pads for some time now and i'm ready to jump on this. I'm not able to leverage the 20% off however, anyone had any luck? Below is the error I'm getting.

FALLMEM12: Your shopping cart does not contain any qualifying coupon items.
You saved $10.99 in U.S. Standard shipping on this order!

Update. I spoke with Chat and they say the 20% off does not apply to the XL due to it being on sale. I may try to order via phone just to give it a shot, as she had suggested that right before telling me that it didn't apply.

"Gretchen G: The XL size is on sale.
Gretchen G: That is why the coupon is not working."

Can someone explain how "Self-Inflating" works? No need to bring air pump?

Exactly. Just lay it out, open up the valve, and wait a while as it fills up with air. You many need to top it off a bit at the end.

I have two of the REI Camp Bed 3.5s that I got from a previous slickdeal and it's a great car camping pad, might be a little overkill as I think this 2.5 would be more than enough. I've seen better sales on the REI brand Camp Beds for ~$50 but they don't come frequently so if this was something you were looking to purchase I would jump on it.

Yes, exactly as it implies. The air mattress is filled with open cell foam. When you open the valve stem the compressed foam expands pulling air into the pad. Once expanded if you want a firmer pad you fill it to your needs using your lungs. To deflate you open the valve and will have to compress the air out by rolling the pad up and close the valve to keep it from re-inflating.

I can never believe how expensive self-inflating pads are. I'm not saying this is a bad deal, just that you can find them at garage sales for a couple dollars and practically brand new. Still, its a great product.

Or you can get a pool lounge type float. I paid $4.50 for mine, comes with a built in pillow, and has lasted 3 seasons of heavy use on multi-night backpacking trips..

CSR would not let me apply the code over the phone.

I agree, but most of the used ones I've found end up having a tiny hole that you don't know about until your first night you use it. At least if you buy it new at REI you can always take it back for a full refund if you have issues.
