Thrive has been upgraded to ICS via OTA since last August. My 8GB version works flawlessly. It's a little thicker than some of the newer tabs available, but allows SD card memory expansion including the newer SD card formats and takes USB thumb drives for content. There is still a 8GB version for 179.9 available, which used to be159.99.
Might be a better deal if you are going to get a SDHC anyhow.

I wrote this for the 8gb deal since I think 16gb is a must for the thrive, & deal is not bad for thumbs down.


I'm guessing deal dead as of now. The 16gb is now on for $205 from onesale. I have the 16gb & I wouldn't recommend the 8gb version if you want to use it for much. The thrive has a 3gb partition reserved for apps, but the reserve works that it just installs the launcher of the app(to the 3gb partition) on large apps like games or navigation /maps. The bulk will install to what's left of the 8gb-3gb partition-actuall size-OS. I think its less than 3gb. That's the usable part of the 8gb that you can load music, video,pics to. It goes fast, a good deal if your just web surfing but could be prob later.

Would that still matter if you buy a sd card?

I got this from 1SAD back in august for this price and I'm very happy with it. My parents wanted one, so I've been trying to get this deal again. I ended up buying a used one and ebay for about this same price. I think this is still a slick deal.
