I don't think anyone waiting for better SSD deals will be kicking themselves, seeing how SSD prices have been on a downward trajectory. The WSJ article made good points on prices but was not specific to SSDs. For SSDs the best bet is generally still - don't buy it now unless you need to install it now. I did well following this guideline, even though some folks months ago were telling me the prices would stabilize or go up.

True although computer parts will always get cheaper and better with time. Can't wait anymore so I bit the bullet :-)

Yeah, computer parts often get cheaper. But price drops are not always at the same rate. SSDs in particular have shown a rather steep price drop this year. For example, the Samsung 830 256gb drive was Front Page here in March for $300. I got it last week for $170. That is a rather considerable price drop. So for SSDs, in general it makes sense to wait until you need to put it into a machine. On the other hand, regular platter hard drive price increases - would have liked to have seen that one coming, lol.

Go figure after I buy this deal, 10 more deals pop up the next day that are better.
