Google Voice "We could not complete your call"
Hello. So 4 days ago (the last time i received a voicemail), my google voice app was working fine. If i didn't pick up a call, the google voice app answering machine would kick in. Now? If i don't pick up a call, i get a statement saying "We could not complete your call". I've scowered the internet and found many threads but no solutions. At first i thought this was google's problem.. however it has been like this for 2 days now. Anyone have any solutions? Things you should know: 1) Droid Incredible HTC. 2) I have been jumping around gmail accounts. Over the course of a year, I've had two business google number/voice accounts connected to my phone without properly deleting one before adding the other. Both times, the voicemail answering machine (if you called my regular number) would be the same as the google number account its connected to. BASICALLY, it worked fine. As always. Thanks. |

make sure you are dialing the AC with the local number.

Well the problem occurred after i created a new google voice account after i left my old job. I made it 2 days ago, and may be the cause of the problem. Is anyone familiar on if the cross-over through so many accounts screwed it up?
I think the easy answer is to just contact google... but there is no contact info haha. Anyone know where i can go to talk to them? |

You have to activate the voicemail thing on a per account and per cell/land phone basis don't you?
This is probably a dumb question, but have you verified what the settings are at google.com/voice? I got comparisons coming out my ears and she never can hit the pause

Alright so the situation just to sum it up more clearly.
- i've used my phone number through various google voice accounts. -I set a new account, attached to my personal email address so that i would no longer have to keep changing my google number/voice account. -The caller wouldn't be forwarded to my voicemail, but instead run into the message "Sorry we could not complete this call". Solutions Tried: 1) Took my number off the old accounts completely. (inconclusive) 2) Took my number off my current account (Still played the "could not complete your call" when hypothetically it should go straight to Verizon's voicemail system) 3) Put my number back onto the account. (inconclusive). I'm pretty sure i haven't overlooked anything in the Google Voice settings. . . hoping someone knows the solution to this problem. I think i might just go to Verizon for this one... haha i'm sure they could atleast do SOMETHING. Right? Last edited by Fly_jack; 10-14-2012 at 04:05 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Hey MonteCristo. Thanks for your reply. However there is no such option available for All Apps>Settings>Call>Voicemail. I probably should've mentioned what phone i got after my upgrade. During the duration of this thread, my old phone (HTC Droid Incredible 1) died. I got an upgrade for the (Motorola Droid M). |

Either case, check your voice mail settings on your phone. My assumption is that during your initial linkage between your phone and google voice, it prompts you which voice mail would you default to, and you may have selected one or the other. Try changing it and/or delete your GVM from your phone and set it up again. |

I'm not seeing anything that can manipulate voicemail settings besides the google voice app =/. Furthermore, I was never prompted to choose which one would be the default voicemail provider when i first registered my phone to google voice. There IS a "Do not disturb" feature in google voice, which seems to do nothing when i check it on/off. Because of this, I'm 100% certain this is all on google's side and its something i can't really fix unless i change my number or contact them directly. Perhaps it has nothing to do with my device but my phone number in their servers. (Note: i am literally just pulling s*** out of my ass now.... But at this point, i can't help but think its their fault. )I just want to get a hold of them directly...... so i can get this situation over with. Does anyone have any idea where i can start? |

But I am still a bit skeptical that you were not provided with the option when you originally signed up for google voice on your phone. Come to think of it, maybe you didn't get prompted. There is a 'google voice app' for the phone... try installing that and then play with it... it is a cool app... each time you dial a #, it asks if you want to use GV or your regular line. all the best. |

I'm getting error 503 when I try to call out. No solution yet.
Thanks to God I have Ooma too, which works fine. https://www.google.com/search?q=e...ogle+voice Last edited by evongugg; 10-18-2012 at 03:40 PM.. |
