This wont be completed until June 2013, and then they'll start moving people over to T-Mobile phones until 2015... so you're fine.

Now if you don't talk much, I'd suggest you got the $30 100 minutes, unlimited text and 5GB data (EDGE speeds if you go over) on T-mobile.
Where is this Tmobile $30 deal? I didn't see it on their website.

Seems like a good deal, but MetroPCS is being acquired by T-Mobile..so time will tell what happens to plans like this. (The phones will be useless since MetroPCS is CDMA..and T-Mobile plans on phasing it out).
Quote from Outrager View Post :
I believe it's the other way around. MetroPCS will be acquiring T-Mobile, but they are going with the GSM network like you said.

this is correct.

Tmobile is acquiring them.
Some of you are half retarded and can't even read the slashgear article.

Facts:

T-mobile is buying metropcs. Period.

T-mobile will continue to be T-mobile

MetroPCS customers will become T-mobile customers

MetroPCS will be no more

Current MetroPCS stockholders will hold 26% stock in t-mobile USA and get $1.5billion cash for their stock.

This is called a reverse merger because instead of t-mobile buying all the stock for cash and keeping the metropcs brand they are destroying the brand and giving metropcs stockholders stock in t-mobile and (relatively speaking) very little cash. Sort of a "mini take over" where metropcs hands t-mo all its customers, resources etc and t-mo gives current owners stock.

The MetroPCS CDMA phone coverage is expected to disappear in 2014/2015 and the goal is to transition a majority of customers for both TMo & Metro to their new LTE.
