I just noticed that the pending charge for my canceled order has just posted as a full charge.
I recommend people checking their statements to make sure they weren't charged for the canceled order like I just was.
My order was canceled & OM posted a charge on my CC (10/19 post date) for the tax & shipping. This is complete BS. I can understand a price mistake, but to be charged tax & shipping for an order that was cancelled is ridiculous. I am on hold now, but Customer 'Advocate' from OM was asking me if the order shipped or if it was an instore pickup. Unbelievable, they canceled the order, shouldn't they know it didn't ship? They charged me for shipping, shouldn't they be able to to tell it wasn't an instore pickup?
If anyone used maxperks to buy any of these items and then they cancelled your order. Officemax automatically deducts from maxperks rewards. Dont believe what they tell you when they tell you they dont charge before it ships. With creditcards that is the case but with maxperks the balance is taken off and never put back when item is cancelled or back ordered. They also have no way to creditback the missing balance even if they tell you they will. They will need to actually send you a check for what you are out.
I am now going to have to waste an inordinate amount of time to get them to send me a refund check.
that's actually not a bad way to cash out MaxPerks awards
OM charged my card also (for a cancelled order). What a s*** company.
Last time i'm posting a deal from them... let alone trying to purchase anything from them.
Edit: Damn... Just realized I placed the order from my phone (so no printout). I never received a confirmation or cancellation email, so no order #. Any Ideas?
1. File a complaint with the credit card company.
2. File a complaint with BBB.
(I filed a complaint with BBB and OM said it is the standard procedure to cancel any order according to their whims. I am disputing their argument as this is not the standard practice. Companies make mistakes, but reputable companies either honor their commitments or somehow compensate the customer. May be OM is not so reputable after all)
