Consider this - stand-alone GPS units are going away pretty soon. Smartphone apps and new car built-ins are taking the market. Dutch maker TomTom has already announced they're no longer manufacturing stand-alones. They haven't said how long they'll support stand-alones for now. This is definitely a buyer beware situation. What good are "Lifetime Maps" if the makers abandon that business? Reminds me of a fishing rod I bought in the early 70's.. It came with a "Lifetime Warranty." Turns out it was the lifetime of the maker, Lew Childre, who died in a plane crash in 1977!
I never grew up... I just learned how to act in public.

Even though I posted this deal I myself use google maps on my android cell and am very happy with it. That being said for those who would rather have a stand alone unit this is a pretty good deal. |

I have this which I bought like 2 years ago from Staples. Works well on directions but not on POI - they are completely out dated. Expect an OD if you are looking for a Mcdonald's. Map updates are superslow. Like 2 hours for an update.
