Consumer Reports Magazine $12/year (13 issues) and FREE 30 day trial for consumerreports.org
This is actually the exact same deal that was front-paged 6 months ago.
Not sure if this will work if you've ever subscribed to the magazine or online in the past. But if you do not have any Consumer Reports account I can confirm that this is working as of today.
- Sign up for the 30 day free trial to ConsumerReports.org [consumerreports.org]
You will have to use a credit card, but you can cancel the free trial immediately after subscribing if you wish. ( I use a calendar reminder to email me before 30 days is up and will enjoy the trial)
- Click this link and you'll find a $12 offer for a year of mailed print edition of Consumer Reports
This also includes auto renewal but CR is a very legit organization and will send their own email reminder before it renews automatically. Even so, so I still set up amy own personal Google Calendar reminder alert in 11 months just to be extra safe.
---
Alternatively, if you do not want to sign up for the 30-day online subscription your local library will likely have their own ID/Pwd for online subscription.
You can check to see if your city library's website have an Articles and Databases page. Usually if they have a subscription to MasterFILE Premier then it should include subscriptions to Consumer Reports as well as Kiplinger Personal Finance magazine in PDF format.
All credit goes to srowe18, brisar, and cacophony777 who contributed to the posting of this fantastic deal in the original thread a half year ago.
