My hand is better, mostly, and I can split again. I have 24-36" logs that are 10-15' long that I'm using my 455 rancher on, and it's blowing through them. The oak I can't split strait, so I use hte saw to cut down 2-3" for a guide, then a few hits with the maul and it splits.
Cuts like a dream. Went through 3 tanks of gas yesterday and 4 tanks today. It drinks fuel, and bar oil, I'm on my 3rd quart. For the 36" rounds I just roll it as I cut but it does a great job. If I was still using my little stihl, it would be twice or three times the job. It burns through the red oak great as well. i picked up the 445 model for $199 after coupon (its $220 now). very happy with the saw so far.
