Mcafee paying rebates for same titles, different offer numbers

Fellow SD'rs,
I inadvertently submitted two rebates for Mcafee Antivirus 2012 for payment, one in June the other in August. Both paid with the appropiate gift card.

With the demise of the Staples (e-j u nkie 25 off 75 ) coupons( I used them more at OD then at Staples), I don't have this issue now, but still thought i 'd let everyone know, Mcafee will paid same item in different rebate periods.

Wouldn't be surprised if they lured people back in and suddenly decided to revert back to their old policy of 1 rebate per product year.

I never had an issue with getting rebates on the same Mcafee product with unique offer numbers.

I had purchased McAfee Total Protection 2013 and then received the Rebate. Then I purchased "McAfee Internet Security 2013" and was denied stating "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process.".

Rebate company Parago kept on stating that it is being denied by McAfee and not us and then eventually I was able to talk with "McAfee" Customer Service at 1-866-622-3911.

They said from now on we are only accepting 1 rebate per year. I said on the Rebate it states that it is "One rebate per product per household is allowed. They just wouldn't budge and kept saying it is only One rebate per year per household for any of the McAfee Products.

So now I am out $60.

Anyone having same issue ?

--- While it appeared from several posts over the past year on FW and SD that McAfee was no longer enforcing the one rebate per product limit, it now appears that the "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process" invalidation has returned. LINK [fatwallet.com]
--- There is one poster on FW who had not submitted a McAfee rebate since falling victim to the Summer 2010 debacle until June 2012. The rebate submission was invalidated. After failing to get the rebate processor to valid the rebate, the poster was able to convince a McAfee representative to make good on the rebate. Not sure what to make of this but it is possible that at least some of those black listed during the Summer 2010 debacle are black listed for life.

Not sure about getting Blacklisted for Life because after that Summer 2010 when 6 of mine were Invalidated, I stopped too but in 2011 I did 3 (1 each for Total Protection, IS and AV 2012) and got all 3 rebates.

This year I did "TP 2013" and got the Rebate but on my IS 2013 purchase they invalidated.

I've been able to get 4 copies (2 per address x 2) of McAfee Internet Security 2013 (3 User) FAR this past year all under the same name or address. They were all different Offer #'s obviously, and I believe from 2 different retailers.... but all marked valid and approved.

I'm waiting for my set now. I would go ape shit if I saw that audit process message when I tracked my rebate.

Symantec has started the same "Did not pass our Audit Process" too.
14 of my rebates have been invalidated now.

Edit: First they state random reasons for invalidating like "Missing Email Confirmation", "Missing UPC", "Product not on Receipt" etc. and when you call to get it fixed, they fix it and then within the next 3 days it goes to "Your rebate did not pass our Audit process".

Just checked more. My "System Mechanic" + "Vipre Antivirus" changed from Valid to Invalid stating "Invalid UPC". Called them and they said UPC is fine but it is not letting us "Validate" it. We will have to investigate it. I am assuming "Parago" has blacklisted my address from doing any of the Rebates they fulfill.

Sue their asses or report them to the attorney general.

Like how many would you define as "too many"?

Im kind of worried now because I do a lot of Parago AV rebates for different companies.
