my father got a 46 inch samsung LED for a good price that later sold out and went way up above where he bought it. I've got various laptops and other items over the years for good prices, but really not worth the amount of time I spent researching them up. In the end I try to balance price with time spent researching and if I find myself spending too much time, I work 2 hours of overtime and just pay normal price.
They weren't necessarily great deals, but I always got things I really wanted or needed. Depending on the year, the item may have been very hot to get.
2004 -2006 $200 PC desktop with monitor; dvd+rs 100 packs $5 at BB, vhs to dvd recorders $100
2006 46" HDTV xbr2 bravia under $3000(total ripoff these days ); 26" mountain bike bicycle $30
2007 HTPC under $500; Sony 250 watt subwoofer $100 ; Vtech 5ghz wireless 3 phone set/answer machine for $15 after rebate
2008 Xbox 360 Arcade with Guitar Hero bundle under $300; Brother Laser Printer $20 after rebate
2009 32" Vizio 1080p HDTV for $313; Rockband II set under $100; 1.5TB WD elements $70; WDTV live $90.
2010 Canon s95 $300 at Newegg; $45 WDTV live
2011 2TB WD MyBook usb 3.0 $80; Hoover Platinum bagged vac bundle $150
(I bold printed my most memorable purchases)
Many of these things are dated & priced too high compared to today's prices and are just serviceable merchandise, but back in the day those were very hot items that most people wouldn't mind getting.

I have had many great deals but my favorite deal was around 12 years ago when I didn't really know what Black friday was. My dad and I decided we would go to best buy like 20 mins early and we were so surprised to see all the people in line. After we parked the doors were open and it was a mad race. Well I just needed the 512mb ram at the time that was like 1.99 each. WE didn't realize the line wrapped around the computer department was for those deals so we walked up next to the line and took a few out of the box and scored the great deal.
Last year on Cyber Monday Dicks Sporting Goods ran a sale online for 25% off of any one item. Then there was a code floating around for 15% off, and you guessed it.....they stacked. So I got a $2300 Swarovsky scope for about $1500.
I missed a couple of other deals by being at work that day and probably lost out on making at least $500. I plan to take the day off this year.
