So I'm looking to either get some money from the WiiU or Black Friday sales.

Save your hate, in my old area most of my spare change was made from selling with Craigslist and Craigslist-like site/sites. Anyways, new area and the demographic isn't as easy to make money in terms of resale in that area.

WiiU I'm unsure of. I'm just not seeing another Wii dilemma with it to drive the prices way up.
I reckon TVs are the surest bet. Last Black Friday it was a few of those Best Buy video games that went for cheap online that I purchased for resale.

I have a Staples 1 mile away, Radioshack 2 miles, Walmart and Gamestop are at 3 miles.
BestBuy is kind of far though.

That reminds me. I also got a KMart nearby, although I'm unsure if they do much in terms of deals.

Kmart is good for clearance stuff, I have them around me also. O forgot Sears as well, Seats has killer clearance stuff sometimes.

the Wii-U is a bad console IMHO, I wouldn't invest in it.

AIG was a bad bet. I made $$$ of that too. Demand is such that I wouldn't care if it was a lump of coal. If, by miracle of miracles, I can't resell, I'll simply keep my receipts & return....but I seriously doubt that will happen.

glad to see the negative thumbs rating for the ebay resellers, they screw the rest of us out of good deals and end up giving half their profit to ebay/paypal in the process. Smilie

In all seriousness, I don't resell because I hate trips to the post office, packing stuff up, dealing with all the paperwork. I can go to work an hour of overtime whenever I want if I want money bad enough. More power to those that enjoy ebay reselling, for me it's just stressful. I don't mind the black friday experience, waiting in line, etc. I go there purposely as a hothead to catch groups of people holding spots for large amounts of others in line and call them out. Smilie Without people like me everyone could think they'd be able to get away with waiting in line all night only to invite 10 friends and relatives in at the last second. Smilie

Bad console to play or resell? Doesn't matter. You're wrong on BOTH accounts (may actually be right on second one).

No, your logic is flawed because your linear pea brain can't comprehend that while me taking one unit off the shelves removes it from inventory, the whiners (you) can't seem to get their fat hairy ass out of bed at 2am to trot down to a big box store, be bothered to sign up for a list, call & bug every Game Stop in a 50 mile radius, etc. I'm not sure if anyone is even able to buy 10 at a time unless it is through Amazon or an online retailer. I'm pretty sure the B/M stores cap at 1 per person. Inventory is blown away minutes after the store is open. Hp Touchpads were a good example but the Wii U's are going to be that +1.
+1 to what you said but try to word your responses better so readers don't shut down after reading the first sentence. It would make everyone's life easier.

So everyone that's mad about re-sellers, well listen. Have they frustrated me in the past? Yes. Is what they are doing wrong? No. It is neither morally nor legally wrong to work hard to acquire product and then sell it with a markup. Early bird gets the worms, you snooze you lose... any other good 1 liners?

Oh and one more thing, no one comes to your house and takes your luxury goods, divides it in 10 and then splits it around the neighborhood so everyone can enjoy the nicer things in life do they (well maybe except for the government Blink)? The same concept can be applied here.

I'm sure all the resellers also show their correct income from profits on their taxes each year.

Though I'm only considering reselling if the console isn't to my liking, I'm still hoping to get $700 - $1200 for my WiiU Deluxe Edition. I managed to get a pre-order / layaway for it today at Walmart.

Any ideas on how much I can get it? Also does anyone have any data analysis on sales of the Wii during its launch on eBay?

If I remember correctly, the initial few units on Ebay went for crazy $$$$.. Then it died down a bit and then kicked back up right before Christmas when realized that they werent going to get them from anywhere else in time.

My opinion this year is it will be about the same. I have seen some preorders on Ebay go for $700+ a few days after preorders were closed, but they have settled down into the $500 range. I'm thinking we will see a spike to the $700 range as Christmas gets closer. My fear is that they will produce enough units to cover the demand this time, leaving very little profit. So I will probably sell immediately after launch and hope to get a few more to sell just before Christmas.

I have to.. I use my resellers tax license to avoid the sales tax. Since most of the people who buy from ebay are out of state, I dont have to pay the sales tax back. And since I didnt use the item, I dont pay the use tax either.. bounce

I would say there is no way you get 700 for the wii u...I would say the Max you would ever get is 650....That is still twice retail and there is not a lot of people that will pay that...

You should check out eBay when the WiiU first lost its pre-orders (2 days after the pre-orders opened). People were getting $750+ for their systems and its not even out. Right now people are getting an average of $500+ for the system.

I'm going to sell it at its peak time the week after Black Friday (or start the bid on BF) and I'm hoping to get $700+ like others have already.

Just because it Shows Somebody won the auction at 750+ does not mean it was Paid...I have a few on pre order myself and I was going to make a listing to see what I get and if I get paid......
