Thread Details

Decent price on a Ruger LC9 with free shipping. Factor in your FFL dealer fees to make sure you're getting the best total price. What bites is that I just bought this pistol locally for $355 w/ tax & NCIS check.

The LC9 is known for a long, heavy trigger and, some say, too many safety features. However, this pistol is for concealed carry use. You want the pistol to be safe when not in use. It's not a good day when you draw in a panic and fumble just before shooting yourself in the testicle. Practice, practice, and more practice to overcome these small obstacles.

I think this has been at this price for some time. I bought mine about 2 months ago, and my nephew bought one here about three weeks back. Still, this is about the lowest price you will see for this gun. FWIW, I do like mine. It has a solid hand feel, not too snappy and tucks away nicely. Yes, it does have a long trigger pull, which you get used to quickly. What I like less is the long reset, but I'll probably get used to that also.

I'm thinking I'd rather have the m&p shield

Good price. My local gun shop has this for $329.99... and they are the "Ruger 2011 retailer of the year" and they've had the best prices on any Ruger I've seen.

As for the Shield, it took them 3 months to get one for me. It's a nice piece, but I feel it may be a bit over hyped... It's still much more comfortable to CC than my full size M&P, but 9 or 10 less rounds a magazine

I've been carrying this gun daily for over a year. I highly recommend it. The slim design tucks neatly in my waistband in a desantis sof tuck holster, and I barely notice its there.

The best part is how cheap 9mm fmj ammo is. Since its critically important to have a lot of range time with a self defense gun, you don't break the bank going through a couple hundred rounds. Make sure to shoot plenty of the ammo you'll keep in it as well. I use Hornady critical defense.

The trigger pull is quite long (you pretty well pull it all the way), but thats not a real problem in a carry gun. My only complaint is the magazine disconnect. If your mag is loose or falls out, the gun won't even fire the round in the chamber. This "feature" can actually be disabled if you're willing to disassemble the gun, although I've never tried it. There is also a little more recoil than a full sized 9mm, but that is expected with how light and small the lc9 is.

This makes the wife happy, thanks. This is the only one she has liked after trying many different handguns.

This can be found on sale for $300 quite often. I have this one and just be wary that the recoil is insane due to light weight and small size. However I don't think its any worse than a 380. I sent mine in (or DIY) to gallowayprecision to shorten the trigger and a few other upgrades. The trigger kit has definitely improved it. You can buy his kit, or you can search on youtube for a DIY tutorial.

I compared this one to the kahr cm9/pm9 and to me they shot about the same (high recoil), both had a long trigger pull (kahr was a bit better), and ultimately went with the ruger for higher capacity and has a safety.

I just got this gun with the factory laser sight and am looking for a good cc holster. What have you guys found to be the most comfortable, etc. I was looking at the desantis "tuck this II", but wanted some real world advice from guys that have this gun. Appreciate it!

I use a versacarry, which is the smallest but requires an acquired taste.

nice gun. the gf has one and handles it well. I was dead accurate with it on the first clip and I am a novice. If I could carry in NJ this would be a definite option. Its pretty slim.

Right now I'm using the Desantis Sof Tuck which is okay at best. It doesn't hold the gun positively so you have to watch out when you unbuckle your pants. I've dropped mine twice now. Not cool. The Versacarry is about as unobtrusive a holster as you will find, Problem is, you have to unclip from your waistband to re-holster. So I too am looking for a better solution.

Trigger pull distance sucks! Got one for the wife with laser new for $330 shipped. Gotta add about $100 bucks for a trigger job (on to-do list)... then it'll be nice
