the x51 looks ok, but I choose to always build my own pc's. You get better bang for your buck especially if you plan on going the watercooling/overclocking route. just my 2 cents, but for the average gamer its not a bad deal.

I am not a gamer, but wanted a desktop for Windows 8 as a workstation to download stuff/programming ..

Did I make a wise choice is buying X51, compared to the rest of the ones available which are cheaper and serves the purpose ?

Well shit, you're right. I refreshed randomly a few times & ended up getting one. $615 with Tax in Chicago, regularly $829. Still trying to decide if it was a good deal or not, but jumped on it while it was available.
