Deal Details

enter the sweeps at www.chevyoutdoors.com to win the new Silverado or Cabela’s gift card. You click submit and a screen popped up (after I didn’t share it with others) to do a test drive for Chevy and get a $50 Cabela’s gift card WOOT! You just print that page, take it to the dealer and they will submit the test drive. I chose 1-3 months on interest in purchasing. Not sure if that tripped it, but it showed up when I did choose that.

To get your $50 Cabela’s Gift Card, simply print the page and bring it to your local Chevy Dealer for a test drive. Upon completion of the the test drive, give the print out to your dealer and they will validate your test drive. Upon validation, you will receive your gift card within 4-6 weeks. Expires 12/31/12. Update: I chatted w/ Chevrolet Marketing and called. On the Chat the guy said it takes 6-8 weeks but no other info. On the phone the lady said this was a local only deal and I have to call the dealer. Called the dealer, the sales manager tried to get me to come in and buy a vehicle. Eventually I convinced him to give me his email so I could FWD my confirmation. He said he would look into
Is cabelas sending us our gift card? Or is synergy marketing buying in bulk and sending us the cards?

Bummer, I had a $15 off $50 and a 6x Points codes to use that expire today.

Edit: Sales manager said he can't find anything to support this. He said give it 1 more week and then call him back. Bleh.
Thanks. I'll give it another week and call myself.

Where these Amex cards from this promo or did you sign up for a different promo as well?

I was hoping mine would come soon to use the caeds with the 20 off 150 coupon
http://slickdeals.net/f/5612728-Cabelas-20-off-150-Exp-12-4-12

I have gift cards from other promos, I want to buy a Remington 870 take advantage of the 30.00 mail in rebate. After a price match coupon, rebate and gift cards on hand I am almost to half price. FREE sounds better.

I also need to upgrade my handgun soon, I want either a new Glock 19 or M&P. I am tired of waiting and am at the point where I feel like the cards will ever come. Which sucks I actually went and talked to the dealers on most of them. Every to e you talk to a a car dealer you loose a tiny bit of your soul...

Thanks OP. Yesterday, I went and test drove Cruze. I will be going today to test drive Malibu.

The rep did not fill the online form but he gave me all the information needed to fill the online form. I submitted the online form yesterday night.

He had a small paper card, where, he noted my name, email, car test driven, etc. He said that if the dealer gets a call/email from the GC Promo Team, they will use this card to verify the test drive taken by me.

I asked the rep to fill but he asked me to submit the online form. The rep filled out a card with all the necessary info about my test drive. I don't think GM would be spending time and effort to find out who filled it, instead, they could very well email the dealer with our information and ask for verification. GM just does not want people to fill the information without even taking a test drive.

I doubt they have the time to call every freakin dealership and waste their time looking through cards. It's just not feasible. Neither is checking IP's of every dealership. These things are part of the game. They would spend similar amounts of money for a commercial, pay for the ad time, pay for actors, pay for graphics, camera and video editors. Even then how many will even watch that commercial at that one time or flip channels when that commercial airs or go for snacks while that commercial airs during a football game. I would say getting even half their targets to just go to the dealership and look at vehicles is way more than a hundred thousand dollar commercial would have done.

no way they bat .500 on this type of promotion, after all the deal seekers opt in.

ultimately, only the dumbest 5-10% actually visit a dealership. that's good for GM, though, as that group is stupid enough to buy a chevy.

I have no plans to buy a Chevy and I am looking to buy a Sonata in 2-3 months. I wanted to get a FREE GC given by GM, hence, I decided to visit the dealer to check out the Malibu. This deal gave me an opportunity to test drive a Chevy for the first time. Who knows, ten years from now, GM cars could be one of the leading sellers in the USA. One example: About 10 years ago, Honda and Toyota were market leaders in Civic/Corolla and Accord/Camry group. Hyundai had a bad reputation earlier. Now, Hyundai's reputation has gone up and their Elantra and Sonata are worthy contenders and are highly ranked by reviewers.

IMHO, I feel that just because GM offers a FREE $50 GC, not many would buy a Chevy for that particular reason only.
