I'm also curious if anyone has experience with this laptop. I'm usually in the 17"/1080p camp, but the specs and price are fairly attractive. I'm curious what the screen quality is like. |

The other idea is to try do a Windows 8 Professional upgrade when it comes out. I think you can start with Home Premium 7 and go to Windows 8 Professional for $39.99. Obviously, since Win 8 isn't out yet, details are subject to change, etc, etc. And of course, you might not want Win 8. Last edited by georgekoch; 10-18-2012 at 12:29 PM.. |

just a heads up for those who bought it last week at 800$.. i spoke to a sales rep on the phone and requested a price adjustment even after i received my laptop. they said they were processing it and i should see the 50$ refund on my credit soon.
also discover is offering 5% cashback from all online purchases + 5% from their shopdiscover portal for lenovo. im not sure if they stack but if it doesnt, the 5% offsets most of the tax making it ~762$ and if it does stack ~723$. ill find out on my next statement i guess :o |

Used to be IBM if that means anything to you. They just sold the division back to the manufacturer or something like that. Quality is the same. Last edited by Wixman; 10-20-2012 at 11:32 AM.. |

Not a bad deal at all if you're the market for a relatively small gaming notebook. Like all things computer though, there's always going to be something better. Asus is set to announce (and possibly release that day?) their ROG G46 14" gaming notebook around the 23rd.

![]() Makes this deal seem all the more sweeter. Anyone know how well the Y480 stands up to an hour or so of straight gaming? The Asus ROG notebooks have 2 large vents in the back, one dedicated to the GPU and the other to the CPU and it seems to stand up very well to gaming. |
