I got this last year and IIRC it was the same price or a bit more but they didn't add the $25 voucher to keep you coming back...which sweetens the deal even more.

It's bare bones with 6 gallon plastic pails which is fine for starters, but it would be cool of them offer a full kit with a carboy, bottles and maybe some grain and a brew kettle.

Anyway, great selection and excellent customer service if you have any questions. They're just a few miles down the road for me so it's nice to pop in there and they're always happy to help n00bs like moi.

I started with the Groupon version of this deal. Slick deal until you get into the hobby. Then there's the carboys, the chillers, the freezers with temperature controllers, the upgraded parts, the bottles, the wine add ons because your wife wants to make wine...

New to livingsocial/groupon. How does it work? Does this have to be used in the B&M location or are online orders ok?

That's a really good deal to get you started - I was skeptical at first but making beer that's just as good if not better than 95% of what's available in stores is actually pretty easy (and fun.)

They ship a ton of stuff. Don't now the %age of online business they do, but whenever I'm there, there's probably 5-6 guys in the back constantly boxing, packing and loading FedEx trucks.

I have a dumb question. I work cleaning a shopping center with a sports bar and every sunday morning, i find beer cans that have not been opened. How do i clean the beer cans enough to drink them?

You can't really. You'd have to pry off the top (the entire top), clean out the can, add the new beer then repress and seal the top back on. You'd need to get a pressing machine which are more suited for commercial volume in terms of cost and size, not homebrewing. Bottles are more appropriate for homebrewing (pry off >> twist off).

Huh? In more simple terms, i want to drink the unopened beer in cans that i find at work. How do i clean them enough to drink them? I assume i use sanitizer.
