and it came with no warranty.

why don't you buy from JS and get 5 year warranty?

besides:
3rd skyhawk is on the 5th year already, the 4th gen is rumored to be out this year with U680 movement (better energy reserve, 4 time atomic clock sync).

the U.S. spec skyhawk came with glass as oppose to crystal, you could have citizen to change it for you by send it back to their service center in CA and pay 97 dollars process fee.

by crystal, i meant sapphire crystal

Where does it say no warranty? Should have a warranty through Citizen?

Specs for this watch say mineral crystal, not glass.

Mineral = glass. To my knowledge, none of the Citizens comes with a sapphire crystal.

FWIW, these are great watches. I've still got a 2nd gen Skyhawk Blue Angels in titanium that I've had for probably... 8 or 9 years now. Only problem I had was the crystal broke. I just sent the watch with warranty card to Citizen after getting an RMA, and in like 4 weeks I had my watch with the new crystal and looking nice and new again. I've taken it diving with me a number of times with no problem, and have never had to replace the battery either.

I also have the 2nd gen model, and love it. Wear it as my daily watch, and it takes a beating. Never had an issue!

You're right, forgot about that. I've got the titanium non-Blue Angels version (JY0010-50E) and it's been great.

You can find one from Costco with sapphire, but it's kind of plain. All Skyhawk here are just glass. I hate that paid that much still got a glass, but the watch is nice. If it's me, I can make it better, but I don't think they care too much. For date, I'll have to put both in local, which is kind of a waste.

The warranty is only honored if you bought the watch from an authorized citizen retailer. These are most likely gray market watches and do not carry the 5 year warranty. Doesn't mean its not a good deal though.

I read something on watchuseek (I think) once that said Citizen will replace the mineral crystal with sapphire for the right price (and it seemed relatively reasonable, especially since it's at the factory, and they replace the gasket and do the depth check). My crystal looks practically new so I hope to never have to find this out, but if it gets scratched enough I'll check into it. I don't like having to use local on both for the correct date either, but it is literally my only complaint about the watch.

It's not too much a good deal. You can get from Kohls with a kohls card for $366, and can get $70 kohls cash. Here [kohls.com] and for a chance, likely tomorrow, you can get another $20 something off of the price. I got one for $342 + tax and with $70 kc(had to buy something else) and I went to buy a thing from local store with the kc, return it to get a gift card which will never expire. I just spent the left gift card amount 2 weeks ago. It's not cash, but that way, it is cash to me, I always can find something good and cheap from kohls

I have more, why do they put a 24 hour dial, why UTC is only UTC, can't change? Made it a very busy face, but very little information. Stick Out Tongue

As crazy as this sounds pilots need utc. Cant be changed which means it is always be correct and we cannot screw it up and put the wrong time when filing a flight plan with faa or in icao (europe). Same reason the only flight approved gps is jon corruptable while the one in your car you can edit waypoints and such. Keeps us from messing it up.
