CANCELLATION POLICY UPDATE! CHECK YOUR EMAILS:

"It has been a very exciting six weeks since we relaunched, and we hope you've been enjoying your MoviePass as much as we've enjoyed creating it! We've received a ton of great customer feedback recently, and we've been taking comments into consideration as we continue to grow and expand. One of the main areas of feedback has been related to our cancellation policy and in an effort to provide a better user experience and a higher level of transparency, we have simplified things for you.

If you decide to cancel MoviePass within your first month of membership, you will be charged a cancellation fee of the difference between your monthly MoviePass rate and the total dollar amount of the movies you saw. If you're paying $30 dollars a month for MoviePass and you saw 5 movies at a cost of $10 each, you would pay a $20 cancellation fee. If your subscription fees are more then the cost of the tickets, you will be credited back the difference.

After your first month of membership, there will be a flat cancellation fee that is based on how long you have been a subscriber. The breakdown is as follows:

If account is cancelled within months 2 or 3, cancellation fees are $75
If account is cancelled within months 4, 5 or 6, cancellation fees are $60
If account is cancelled within months 7, 8 or 9, cancellation fees are $40
If account is cancelled within months 10 or 11, cancellation fees are $20

After your year long commitment, you will be able to cancel your MoviePass account at any time without cancellation fees.

We have a lot of things in store for MoviePass and your feedback has been invaluable. Our full terms and conditions may be viewed here; if you have any questions or feedback about this policy, or anything else MoviePass related, please reach out to our MoviePass Concierge via email at support@moviepass.com, live chat, or phone at (877) 646-2892."

If the theater accepts Discover card the movie pass should work there.
There have been reports of high end dinner and movie with waiter service theaters being removed as soon as moviepass spots them.

That is a good idea, but can we buy for the later 2d feature if its more than 30 minutes from the time we want to purchase it?

This will be great if we can figure a working system for seeing 3d movies.
I don't think you understand MoviePass. You can buy one ticket per day for any showing of the day.

You just have to purchase it within that 30-minute window once you check in, but you can purchase a ticket even 10 hours (or whatever) ahead of time.

go see samsara for a beautiful visual experience, and searching for the sugarman, a great story of great song writer, if they are showing at your local theaters

Got it, thanks. Then that other 3D suggestion is perfect! Buy for a later showing of the 3D movie in 2D.

There is actually a theater near me playing Searching for Sugarman. I'm going to check it out (I hope the theater accepts discover card) thanks for the recommendation.
Oh, for everyone with moviepass...skyfall opens tonight at midnight. It's supposed to be great.

Just saw the most bizarre, weird, strange movie I've ever seen at th e indie theater...Called holy motors. I guarantee the whole time you will be going wtf??? Every scene is wtf? Critics loved it. It competed at cannes festival. I'm not sure what I thought of it. Afterwards the only other person in the theater and I had a discussion about it, trying to figure out what was going on.

So I got in at 19.99 and was trying for the longest time to get my gf to sign up. She tried but we kept getting errors. Well she got through today but not for 19.99, but for 39.99. BS. I chatted with the rep and she said that the 19.99 was a promo price.

So my plan is this: by a movie ticket on day 1, then go to the theater and exchange it for a voucher. on day 2 go use movie pass again to pay for myself and use the voucher from day 1. That should work right? I would be fine paying 24.99 for each of us but paying 40 is ridiculous

Went and bought Skyfall for midnight showing. Went to the service counter, got IMAX ticket instead, and paid the difference. Voila.

So you just buy normal ticket and exchange it.. How much more was it like 2 dollars?

This would take to much work , driving , planning , plus could ruin the program for everyone.

I started a new topic in Deal Talk, Don't want to paste here , not sure about the rules about promoting other topics. Anyways the topic deals with reward programs coupons to movies. I figured for those who have movie pass , are in the know of what deals are out there , can more frequently review food , theater venues , talk about current promotions coupons. Look for it in Deal Talk I started it today. Any input is welcomed.

So I've been using the card fine, until this past weekend. I tried two different AMC locations and my card was rejected by the kiosks at each location.

I talked to MoviePass and they said it's a new bug. So now I have to stand in line for the box office.

Summary:
Your GF wasn't smart enough to get in on the deal when you first told her.
You were too cheap to lay out the money for her card and sign her up yourself.
You are willing to jump through hoops to get exactly what you're paying for anyway, which is 1 movie a day.
Your local theater is probably going to ban you when they realize you are exchanging tickets at the service desk 4-5 times a month.

Going to be very entertaining when you post here whining in 2 months

Oh no, a new bug. I sort of had trouble at the kiosk as well today....I also had an issue where some of the movies playing at the theater weren't showing up on their site, so had to call in to reserve.

Saw skyfall last night. Really excellent movie. Except for the ridiculous final death scene. LOL
