CANCELLATION POLICY UPDATE! CHECK YOUR EMAILS:

"It has been a very exciting six weeks since we relaunched, and we hope you've been enjoying your MoviePass as much as we've enjoyed creating it! We've received a ton of great customer feedback recently, and we've been taking comments into consideration as we continue to grow and expand. One of the main areas of feedback has been related to our cancellation policy and in an effort to provide a better user experience and a higher level of transparency, we have simplified things for you.

If you decide to cancel MoviePass within your first month of membership, you will be charged a cancellation fee of the difference between your monthly MoviePass rate and the total dollar amount of the movies you saw. If you're paying $30 dollars a month for MoviePass and you saw 5 movies at a cost of $10 each, you would pay a $20 cancellation fee. If your subscription fees are more then the cost of the tickets, you will be credited back the difference.

After your first month of membership, there will be a flat cancellation fee that is based on how long you have been a subscriber. The breakdown is as follows:

If account is cancelled within months 2 or 3, cancellation fees are $75
If account is cancelled within months 4, 5 or 6, cancellation fees are $60
If account is cancelled within months 7, 8 or 9, cancellation fees are $40
If account is cancelled within months 10 or 11, cancellation fees are $20

After your year long commitment, you will be able to cancel your MoviePass account at any time without cancellation fees.

We have a lot of things in store for MoviePass and your feedback has been invaluable. Our full terms and conditions may be viewed here; if you have any questions or feedback about this policy, or anything else MoviePass related, please reach out to our MoviePass Concierge via email at support@moviepass.com, live chat, or phone at (877) 646-2892."

Finally, got to go a non-AMC theather and the card worked perfectly at a Clearview theather. Got to see Wreck it Ralph. Pretty good animated movie. Check it out!

I got one moviepass to make sure it worked in our area for the $19.99 price.
We had a little trouble the first go around but now it seems to work fine.

I've been trying to get another one with no luck with the invites from the first account. Talked to customer service they said they would send out an invite on their end, thats been a week.
Even if I don't get the 2nd one for $19.99 I would still like to get another card (who wants to go to the movies alone?).
When I go and try to sign up with out the invite to see how much they are charging, I get a message saying my email is on the list for an invite.
I'm starting to get close on my 30 days that I can cancel.
Wonder if this is their plan? Get me locked in (or pay $20) on the first one and then try to charge me $40 for another one.

Yeah, you probably won't be able to get another one at the $19.99 price anymore. But, yeah, at that price I would definitely get two.

How was perks of being a wallflower?
I thought Perks was pretty decent. It wasn't my hands down favorite, but I liked it more than Flight or Skyfall (admittedly, I'm not really into Bond....though I do like most other aciton/spy flicks). It's kind of a typical, "It's OK to be a nerd because the nerds are the cool people in the end" kind of movie -- but I liked it and I thought it was quite well acted. It felt real. I like that in a movie. Perhaps it was too full of teenage angst for some, but I dig that sometimes.

I've been having problems at the kiosk lately too. Do you know, or could you find out, what the issue was and how they got it resolved? I would really appreciate it!
Sorry I didn't respond. Getting ahold of my sister for five minutes is nearly impossible 90% of the time. So I haven't talked to her since you asked -- but I know they said before that the card had gotten declined at the kiosk and they chatted with support via the full MoviePass site (you have to pull up the full site, not the mobile site -- and then click where it says Questions/Feedback and hit the plus button. It pulls up chat and you can chat with support). She said she chatted with support and they got it fixed and I think they haven't had a problem since -- but, like I said, I haven't gotten her on the phone to confirm. I'll let you know if and when I ever hear from her.

I'm going to an AMC theater tomorrow - we'll see how it goes. I'm actually excited because I think I can swipe my stubs card for both my girlfriend's ticket and mine -- which will put me over the $100 hump and earn me $10 in concessions. With the automatic size upgrade and the free refills on large drinks, we'll pay for 2 mediums on them and then refill them on our way out and go home with a full drink and we'll see a movie and none of it will cost us a dime tomorrow. I'm in!

Oh, I didn't mention what I have to sit through........the new Twilight movie. That's the cost of MoviePass for me -- I have to agree to see what my girlfriend wants to see sometimes, too. But, as a concession, she agreed to drive an hour and a half to the AMC that has power leather recliners that recline all the way to a lying down position -- so at least I can sleep in a comfortable chair!

The price thing has been discussed ad nausem (and it got the thread shut down once -- stupid in my opinion, but reality). You can't get it at that price anymore -- it's just impossible. You're going to pay whatever the going rate is in your city ($29.99 in most places, $39.99 if you live in a major city). Be happy you got in while the gettin' was good. If you really want to be able to bring someone, just buy some $4-5 Fandango codes when they come up. I grabbed two of the $4 Groupon ones the other day for my parents and they don't expire until June 30th. You could probably get 4 of those a month for the same $20 and at least you wouldn't have to go alone 4 times a month :-).

In a general MoviePass update, we saw Skyfall and Flight so far this week. We'll see Twilight tomorrow and Lincoln on Saturday I think. Skyfall didn't do it for me. Javier Bodum is a great sicko, but otherwise, the movie was "meh". Flight was similarly "meh". Denzel Washington is always great -- the movie just wasn't that terrific. It wasn't bad at all - just not as terrific as I wanted it to be.

So far, I enjoyed Argo the most.......maybe partly because I've traveled a lot and I could relate to the feeling of being different than everyone around you and not understanding what people are saying. Obviously, I've never experienced anything on that level of intensity, but I felt like I could imagine the feeling and I felt like the movie captured it well. It was also just fun to watch.

I think I'd pick Hotel Transylvania as a second pick, followed by Perks of Being a Wallflower, Wreck-It-Ralph, and then Flight and Skyfall near the bottom end of the spectrum -- though not bad. I haven't yet seen a truly bad movie.

But, there's always tomorrow ;-).

Hey Mr. Ritz and Krazyshopper -- you guys got in early. Your second month must have started by now. Any change in the rate?

Edit: By the way, does anyone know if I can use my Stubs card when we buy my girlfriend's ticket with her MoviePass? I know if i buy both tickets I can take the credit on both of them......but how about if I use it for two tickets bought separately? Anyone know?

AMC terms say you can use the card for you and your immediate family, I made mistake of sharing my card few months ago during a fandango deal and they deleted my account. I am sure if you share with one person itll be fine but who knows really.

Yeah, that would be the best way to do it.

Well now I have to check out Hotel Transylvania and I actually did hear that Perks of Being a Wallflower is quite good, so I'll have to check that one out as well. You'll like the Bond movie a lot. I only saw Casino Royale myself, and I think I enjoyed this one more.

Side question for everyone - I know that 3D and Imax movies are not allowed. But here's an interesting question:

What about Fathom events/MET Opera events? You would think that those would also not be allowed, but they're neither 3D nor Imax movies. I just thought it'd be interesting to post this question. I thought about it when I saw that there was a Led Zeppelin event tomorrow (Tuesday).

Thoughts?
I went to the led zeppelin concert. A very unique experience. U just have to buy a ticket for a movie that u don't want to see and walk into the fathom event. I don't know if u can actually buy a ticket for the event. It would be worth asking customer support though.

You can buy on http://www.fathomevents.com/ but not sure if you can do so another way.

So did anyone get billed for their second month yet? I get billed in two days. This question is more for the people who got the $19.99/month price. I was wondering if you got charged $29.99(or whatever the price is where you live) or not.
