Purchasing first home on Nov 8, advice/am I doing anything wrong?
I'm currently under contract for a condo in the Atlanta area, Asking was $140, Getting it for $124,500. I'm paying for the condo with all cash, and it is my first home purchase. I'm under 30, and this will also be the first year in almost 3 years I'm filing taxes (was working on a double Masters, and not working a job). My listing agent selected the closing attorney who is charging around $1200. I'm still in Due Diligence until the 26th, and set to close Nov 8th.
I basically want to know if I'm doing something wrong that I need to fix ASAP, things I should be doing, or anything I can do that would benefit me financially based on this purchase?
Also, I'm considering taking out an equity line of credit against the condo for 40-45% of its value after I close, but not having any tax returns for last 3 years I think would be a problem, not fully sure (do know I was told by my credit union and two banks that mortgage would be impossible).
Thank you in advance for advice.
