Also got the "deleted" story from my Walmart today, but convinced them to write me a rain check anyway. If it does happen to come back in, I will be a happy camper. No biggie if it doesn't show up.

I ordered online for store pick up at 3 different stores showing in stock and order was cancelled by walmart.com at two stores as it was not in stock. I got ready for pick up message at 3rd store, went there and they gave me different lego set by sticking barcode for this one. After I protested, manager cancelled order and gave me $5 gift card. Went to toysrus, they refused price match. Checked few target stores for in stock and finally got price match after convincing manager at one Target. It was last lego set in this area. It's a big set and nice one. My son loved it. It was worth the efforts.

Went to my local WM and they were out (as I expected). Tried to get a raincheck and got the "we dont do that" to which I asked "Then why is it up on the wall and in your ad" Response - that is only for SuperWalmarts. Tried to get them to look up rainchecks on the online system and they said it did not come up - but who knows. Best I could get from them is "they would sign the ad and honor if it came back in"

Waiting for DM to call me back to discuss the failure to issue rainchecks.

Took ad to Target, 2 left, bought 1, price matched no problem.

This is dead, it was from Sunday the 21st to Saturday the 27th.

I got it! Had a rain check for one walmart (and after a marathon of convincing them I had one and yes you do do them) I got the ok to buy it at another walmart and bring it in to return it and then rebuy it at the rain check price. Thanks to an awesome Manager at another walmart, who called when they found one (looking at the box I'm thinking buried in the back under a pallet) and held it for me, I was able to do it. Kid is going to LOVE it. It was a pain the butt, hovever: the $53 savings made it worth it.
