May want to put the model 'Take 5' in the title to have peoples deal alert to go off.

What do you guys think about these speakers paired with this [newegg.com] receiver? Plus some subwoofer to be determined later. Think there will be any better deals for a similarly priced system closer to Black Friday?

I have been wanting a surround sound setup for a while now and may jump on this, but can someone answer a noob question for me?
Do I need to purchase a receiver to go with it? If I don't need one, is it still optional? I want the best sound possible with the setup. |

I think you can score a receiver for as low as 89 right now though using the onkyo refurb site for a 5.1 set up. onkyo refurbs are like new and it should be about the right receiver to pair up with these, nothing phenomenal but sufficient. |

Have these speakers set up with a Onkyo TX-NR609 and an Onkyo Sub, I absolutely love it.

These speakers with Yahmaha YMC-500 [newegg.com] receiver is a great combo to use as computer speaker if you're interested in low power usage (around 30w). Newegg was running this combo quite often last year which was when I bought it but no longer available now.

Would these work as rear speakers or can someone recommend some rear speakers that will be wall mounted? I have JBL speakers up front, a sub and a center. I already have 12 gage speaker wire run for 2 rear speakers. Room size is 16 long 13 or 14 wide.
Looking not to exceed $200 or $250 for the pair. I currently have the Onkyo RC360 receiver. Thanks |
