Pulled the trigger on this last week at the same price. Added a $100 Polk 10" Sub. Looking for a $200 receiver to pair with them. Nice little $450-500 entry level upgrade from my soundbar/sub. Repped.

I have these paired with a Denon reciever and the matching subwoffer (note the sub does not come with these).
These are excellent if you want something better than the cheap "Home Theater In a Box" speakers but are doing it on a budget. I'd say you'd need to look in the $300 range to get speakers that are better. These are definitely the best in the lower-mid range market. They are also small enough to be unobtrusive (about the size of a big-gulp cup) and look quite nice with a shiny black exterior. Last edited by Solarjetman; 10-21-2012 at 03:35 PM.. |

. And the boss speakers we have in our living room back in 2002 (5.1) which cost 5x as much as my z5500 IMO sounds worse than them.

if anyone is on the fence, don't be, these are great speakers and at this price, an absolute steal. check any reputable website for a review (cnet, avsforums, plenty of other audio sites), they are always in the top echelon for "budget" speakers. i put it in quotes because they definitely don't sound budget at all
