Science is much more than a body of knowledge. It is a way of thinking. This is central to its success. Science invites us to let the facts in, even when they don’t conform to our preconceptions.

got my first firearm this year. a 1911. and i'm love struck. getting better at my aim and trigger control. just bought a 24 gun safe, and looking to expand my collection. need a shottie, a bolt action, would like an ak... just cause... lol. maybe an AR as well. wouldn't mind a glock, just cause everyone has one. would also like to get into reloading... started collecting cases. will collect it from the range whenever range master lets me sweep up. hoping to stock up on a bunch of goodies this bf, but am doubtful...

Quick & easy way to contact your elected officials to stop gun control: http://ruger.com/micros/advocacy/
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" -- 2nd Amendment "You can just hang outside in the sun all day tossing a ball around or you can sit at your computer and do something that matters." -- Eric Cartman, South Park |

For M&Ps, I can't recommend enough these guys: http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuper...AND-WESSON They are part of Vance's Outdoors in Ohio. I bought from them, sent it to my local FFL and it was there in 2 days. Free shipping too - paid my transfer fee @ my FFL and took it home. I bought the M&P 40 Carry and Range Kit - coupled with a .357 sig barrel and a 9mm barrel and 9mm mags, I have a 3 caliber handgun - perfect for cheap plinking, home defense and tactical shooting. For ammo, check out urlhasbeenblocked/category/ammo, ammoseek and gun-deals.com/ammo to find the best prices Also, if the gun bug has bit you, check this out: http://www.garandgear.com/index.p...94:car-ffl there is so much you can get discounts on and firearms you can have shipped to your door by paying the gov't $10/yr for a Collector of Curios and Relics license (FFL 03) Last edited by phlydude; 11-06-2012 at 09:28 AM.. |

![]() That said, I own 2 Glocks (37 and 26), 1 Kahr CW9 and 1 Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm. Also have a Sig P238 on the list for my next purchase (wife's new carry weapon, she's too petite to conceal the G26 effectively). All are great guns and serve their own purposes. I personally didn't like the Ruger LC9 and LCP when I shot them. The trigger pull was too rough for me and they felt too unrefined. "Everyone" has one of those, though. They are very cost effective and they are typically reliable. Glock follows the same thought, simple and dependable. I just feel like they are a bit more refined for better control. Just my $0.02 because I think you are overlooking some really good firearms just because you feel they are "trendy". I apologize if that came across as a lecture, wasn't trying to make it that way. Ruger is definitely a worthy gun. If you are like me then you'll always be adding to your collection and never removing! You may find room for a Glock later on!

From what I've heard of the Sig M400 is a nice rifle and you get a lot for the money making it a good value. Just a note for anyone interested, the description says it's available in 5.56 or .223 caliber, make sure you get one rated for 5.56. You can fire .223 ammo in a 5.56 rifle but you CAN NOT fire 5.56 ammo in a .223 rifle.
Just picked up my 3rd Glock a couple weeks ago at a gun show, a 2nd gen 23. Already had a 2nd gen 17 & 4th gen 22. Yes, I am also "everyone" who owns a LCP & LC9. I don't have a problem with guns that are cool and functional. At the top of my wishlist right now is the KelTec KSG, mainly because they are so f-ing cool. I saw one at the last gun show I was at, but the guy wanted $1800. For more than double the $800 suggested retail, I wanted to tell the guy where to shove it.
