good deal... first two lenses could fetch 450 (or more) on CL... add another 125 from printer sale plus some more $$ from speedlite ??
All in all a sub 350 price for the body (assuming you don't pay tax). I'd have bought but already did that rebate for Jul/Sep period btw, that 50/1.4 is a keeper (at-least on FF) Last edited by SIR_of_Cricket; 10-22-2012 at 03:51 PM.. |

it's a bit different. the f1.4 lens is much more expensive and is flexible enough to be used across all cameras. same for the flash, it's a pretty good ones, which is rarely discounted. Knowledge means knowing that a tomato is a fruit, WISDOM means not using it in a fruit salad.

Yeah I was going to say, this is way worse than the T4i deal... The 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 is useless to me (We're not going to argue about this please)...
Oh it is a f/1.4 deal. In that case, I mean, that's still a pretty huge investment for a beginner. I doubt a newbie (who'd be after a T3i bundle) would really see the difference between the 50mm f/1.8 vs the f/1.4... if you just want the 50mm lens, that's a lot of hassle to resell everything. |

No one has said anything about the flash... is it not good?
If it's bad, then the front-page T4i deal might be better than this. Better camera, lower price, and from what I've heard, the 40mm STM pancake lens is on par with the 50mm f/1.4. Then just buy another lens (55-250mm, 18-135mm) elsewhere from the money you saved. Last edited by eViLNeWBiE06; 10-22-2012 at 06:25 PM.. |

I picked up a brand new 430ex II from an authorized dealer for $205 when eBay sent me a 20% off promotion. I wanted to bite on the T4i frontpage deal, but as a current T3i owner, I'm not sure I would notice any significant difference, anyone out there that knows differently, please let me know! |

Regarding the bad parts or the T4i review on the poor auto-focus, especially in their new movie mode allowing continuous auto focus, I am hoping / assuming that can be addressed with a firmware update, as these are firmware, not hardware issues, and in one case the speed to focus for still has still improved over the T3i because of the Digic 5 (as has continuous shot capabilities), and since the T3i didn't have continuous auto-focus during filming at all... nothing to lose there . Plus, from a investment point of view, I try to flip my previous gen stuff asap ONCE I SEE THE NEW GEN IS THE SAME OF BETTER (unlike the S100 or the zs10), where if you wait to long, unless you keep it forever, you will lose a lot more if you wait two or three generations to pass before you upgrade. Putting all that together is why I went from T3i to T4i.
