My kids are using an old Foxconn FOXCONN NT-510 (Intel Atom D510 CPU and Intel GMA 3150 graphics), but they are constantly complaining about performance. Would this be any better? Obviously the graphics are, but not sure about the cpu

Either way, the main benefits of an Atom or Fusion system are the low power usage and small size. If neither of those features are important to you or you're kids, you might be better off spending a little more on a Sandy or Ivy Bridge dual-core Celeron based system. The G530 is a very popular low end chip for general use. Throw in a $15 AR budget GPU (HD 5450/6450 or Nvidia GT 520) and you'll have a much more powerful system for only ~$100 more than this one. Also, keep on eye on the Lenovo threads where you can often find refurb/scratch & dent systems with Celeron/Pentium/i3 chips for between $100-$200. Keep in mind that despite being "used", those are complete systems with a HDD and memory and OS which this deal skips. I'd rather have the free SSD (plus $10 MIR) instead!
