I'll also chime in for ECS' reputation. I'm running (2) of those skt1155 $15 ECS mobos for more than 6 months almost 24/7. Zero problems. They are good in my book.

What do you use for video if no HDMI?
The 1155 deal mobo did have HDMI. I don't even use it though, I'm using the d-sub with an older lcd for an office pc.

If only it had DVI and gigabit like the majority of 760G boards out there. The money they saved from not having those 2 things seems small compared to those features. I guess that's why it's FAR now.

Just because DVI ports can carry audio, doesn't mean every DVI port will output audio...

Ugh, reading posts about ECS being a bad board.. I have built hundreds of machines with ECS boards over the years. They have the same reliability as some of the much more expensive boards, typically not as feature packed. When designing a build, not everyone needs a $200 asus board. Id hope that people reading would use their judgement. Buy from a reputable seller, understand the return, warranty and RMA process. That being said this board is a no brainer if you are looking to build a minimal frills system. Thanks op.

How is ECS on rebates? Their boards have always been cheap as hell but for free? How many sweatshop kids built this model? I demand at least 15. Stay away from this, unless you don't need a functional MoBo. You will pay in other ways...

I'd like to pick up one of these too. Cheap, low power but decent CPU is needed. Mom's box needs upgrade.
supports fx series, those are good and cost effective.

I typically don't approve of buying ECS motherboards as they're typically garbage in both longevity and overclockability. But at $0, it's an excellent opportunity to match with a super cheap used Athlon II or Phenom II.
Garbage? Not really. As I stated before here at SD, I used many different ECS motherboards years ago and every one of them worked wonderfully. My favorite story is the ECS build for my dad. 775 build, running 24/7 for over 7 years, never a problem with it. My dad would actually not let me upgrade it because he liked the system so much...

Got the $15 ECS Intel 1155 mobo last May and has been running 24/7 as an HTPC with no issues. They're Ok in my book. Set my alarm to wake up for this deal.
Yeah, that was a great deal...many of us here at SD got in on that deal and for me, all three of them have worked flawlessly.

Some people are sooooo negative if it isn't a $200+ motherboard. Truth of the matter is, ECS has made many great motherboards over the years...

ECS isn't bad...people's thinking sometimes goes bad...it is called negativity!

LOL!

M/C I was actually reading a post and went to hotdeals and it popped up before I received the notification...way cool!

Not sure if I can stay up...I have classes to teach early in the morning...what is more important......man...tough decision...grumpy teacher with a free motherboard who did not obtain enough sleep or a grumpy teacher who got enough sleep but missed out on a great ECS motherboard deal....help me out here M/C!

Finally, one positive report out of the literal thousands of happy customers from ECS!

I wouldn't trust that site. It lists DVI even though the newegg pictures clearly have no dvi.
Manual says gigabit LAN, and also says OPTIONAL DVI... so likely there's more than one version of this model. Some with DVI, but probably not the Newegg one (though their pictures could merely need updating.)
