Picked up these 2 batteries and free charger for $14.99 with Free Shipping on Amazon. They run 10-12 hours straight with heavy usage so I am very happy.

PlatinumTel [platinumtel.com] looks like it could be a pretty great option very shortly. They don't currently offer BYOD but claim they will soon. Their home page shows a $40 "unlimited everything" plan to be available in December 2012. And their budget plan is Real Paygo: $0.05 per minute, $0.02 per text, $0.10 per MB of data. Looks like you can add a minimum of $10 every three months to keep your service going.

I just activated my evo on PagePlus (it was a grade 5 on cowboom). Talk, text, and 250mb of data for $28.45 (using a callingmart coupon from SD). Everything works fantastic (no roaming, clear signal, consistent data) . The data speeds are 1x right now, but that is expected without doing questionably legal modifications to the phone. To be honest, 1x is fine for me (it works great with navigation, google voice, moderate web surfing, etc.) and it sips on the 250mb limit without leaking. My setup:
-1 rooted s-off Evo 4g running cyanogenmod 7.2....$44.76 after tax -PagePlus 1200 talk, 3000 text, 250mb data w/ free activation...$28.45 Total initial cost for 1 smartphone and prepaid monthly data plan on verizon network: $73.21...awesome. Thanks SD! |
