K whatever you say but you will be surprise..... They never had a lifetime warranty you know how ridiculous that sounds? ... I work for anothe big company and like I said I have family they works at Costco and that's not how it works. I'm not going to get into the whole process because I'm not going to discuss things I'm not supposed to talk about but trust me they don't have a lifetime warranty.

All they say is that they guarantee customer satisfaction on all of their products and will give the customer a 100% refund if they are dissatisfied. That leaves a lot to interpretation, but if you have a good faith problem with something you purchased from them, even something purchased years before, they will do their best to make you happy.

Other than the 90-day limitation on the specifically enumerated categories of items (TVs, cameras, phones, etc.), its wording is pretty expansive. It's not a flat out lifetime return policy, but if you make a good case for being unhappy with something you purchased, I think they will try to make you happy.

I have Harmony One, but 900 sounds like it might be perfect. Got into VIP without any backflips, am I a VIP?

Also I don't get the vagueness on the Costco Warranty fight? It may not be called a warranty but they have given my money back on anything I tried to bring back including a 8 year old non-stick Rowenta iron that peeled. I certainly don't abuse it but I don't get the argument here.

If that is your only reason for upgrading I have another suggestion. I have all of my components in the basement and my tv on the living room wall. I use an old school Logitech 550 (IR not RF). What you need is an IR repeater (about $16) [monoprice.com] - mine works very well.

u can use an IR repeater but you still have to have the receiving sensor visible since IR is line of sight.

or if ur components are not in line of sight (mine are behind me) then u have to point the remote in that direct for it to work.

if you want it totally hidden or if u have components that are not in ur line of sight then u have to go RF.

I actually bought the One and had line of sight issues - so I bought the Logitech IR Repeater.

I have a plasma TV (Pioneer Elite Pro-151FD), and maybe the fact that it is plasma is the culprit - but I placed the IR receiver in several locations and it picked up so many random IR signals from the TV that it was worse using the repeater than using the One alone.

I know it was picking up random signals because the Logitech IR Repeater has a light that blinks when it receives IR signals and it was going nuts blinking repeatedly without me pressing anything on the remote. I have heard that both LCD backlights and Plasma TVs put out IR and can negatively impact an IR Repeater.

Ultimately - I went with the 900 and I was really happy with the results. I also really like the fact that you don't need line of sight to use the remote. It might be from using the Harmony 890 for awhile - but I'm used to just pressing the remote buttons without necessarily picking up the remote and it works.

I know what the policy says but at the same time you think that you can return a remote two years from now saying that you are not satisfied ?? ... the only items they will guarantee 100 % are their kirkland products because those are their items ... to guarantee a remote control for a lifetime is a joke .. like I said I know what I'm talking about they might make an exception once but I hope you know they keep track of what you purchased and return and if they think you are abusing their policy they can say no to you ...

You sound very weird, not really logical. Of course costco will trace your purchase and return and do evaluation, it doesn't mean you can't return anything you don't like. I returned things new without receipt because I didn't use/want, returned roomba after two years because it just didn't do too much work, returned two TVs I believe, both vizio, which I just hate. And I still have the membership, didn't get any hassle when shopping there. What's your point? Are you saying if you buy all their products and roll around every other week, they will kick you out? I don't doubt about that. Even if that's true, you still end up paying nothing.
