It was an awfully weird price mistake then...I did an in-store pickup and I also ordered one to be shipped (both phone orders, separate calls). The shipped one was backordered for several weeks and then shipped. The typical price mistake would have cancelled after it went into back orders status. Most people who ordered them online to be shipped got theirs. I've still got one sitting brand new in the box that I don't know what to do with.

I just wrapped up building my first HTPC, which has the Hauppauge 2250. I got the 2250 w/ remote bundle, so I have the IR deal. I don't love the remote (or the IR blaster for that matter) and want to go to something like one of these to make the system easier for my wife and child care providers to run.

My main issue is that I have both my Blu Ray Player and HTPC running through my Sony CT-100 sound bar receiver and whenever I (or my toddler accidentally) turns on the Blu Ray Player the CT-100 automatically switches over to it. Then, in order to get back to the HTPC I have to "imput" back to it, which is tricky because the receiver display is hidden behind my "entertainment center".

Assuming I want to go with the 900, will it be able to select the appropriate input on the CT-100 automatically? If so, I'm sold.

As long as the CT-100 responds to IR commands you can use the included IR blaster to switch to the desired input depending on activity. So if your watching HTPC you can add a command for the CT-100 to switch to the HTPC input.

If someone turns on the Blu-Ray player while your watching the HTPC you just hit the HTPC macro you set-up and it will automatically resend the proper input to flip it back to the HTPC.

You have to play around with the Harmony software to get used to the setup.

I currently have a setup of a TV, soundbar, DVD player, cable box, and Roku player with 5 different remotes. Would the Harmony One be able to replace all these remotes?

Roku=use TV remote to select input, useRoku remote for controlling box
Soundbar=soundbar remote only
TV=use TV or cable remote for on/off, use TV remote to select input and advanced options (e.g. Bravia apps)
DVD player=use TV remote for input, use DVD remote for controlling box
Cable box=cable remote only

they are coming, I got one but the check out can't scan it by barcode, they have to look it up in their system and get the costco item number. Took me a long time. I think it means they just got the thing.

Well, for normal equipments, yes, like the ones you have. But for home theater system, I got one from onkyo, the remote for that was just too complicated and too uncommon, I can't really set my logitech up to efficiently operate the receiver.

Yes, absolutely. I have a TV, receiver, DVD player, cable box, and Apple TV all operated off my Harmony 900 (which is just the Harmony One with RF).

What's the trouble? I have done a variety of setups with the Harmony remotes and have yet to find a setup that I couldn't get working efficiently.

First of all, I have the 300, not the one, but from what I can see, the 300 has all the hard keys. but since the remote of onkyo has so many special buttons, I can't map to the 300 and still remember which one I mapped to all the time, this already happened to the LG TV remote, I kinda mapped all the useful keys to 300, but can't remember which one is which. Second, it looks like, after press some buttons on the receiver remote, it will send out different IR commands from the same button. Now that multiplied the complexity to a level that the Logi simply can't handle, even if my 300 could, I can't remember all the weird combination I used when set it up. I have never bought any logi remote before, this is the first one I got, the 300, and till now, I'm not really convinced.

The 300 doesn't have an LCD screen - this is one thing the One/900 have which helps a lot because all of those extra buttons that aren't standard can end up on the LCD and you just pick them.

I can't say for sure about the 300 - but the One/900 can definitely handle multiple IR commands for 1 button. The 900 cannot do sequences, which is a user customized version of sending multiple commands for 1 button (essentially macros) - but the One can. Both the One and 900 though can learn from another remote, and if the other remote sends the multiple commands - the One/900 can learn them and assign them to either a button on the remote or a soft button from the LCD screen.

For your setup, the 300 may not be the best - but one of ones with an LCD probably would help a lot.

BTW- for those who are buying the One or 900 - they both support Favorite channels sort of like how the Touch works and you can get some really nice looking icons for the remotes on this website:

You just select your remote, then search for the channel icons you want and then in the Harmony Software you can define Favorite channels and pick icons for each one.

does the 900 have all the keys back-lit or just some? mainly i need the dvd functions (play pause etc) and the channel numbers back-lit.
