I bet you would be (surprised that is). It is only the largest Atlantic storm EVER.

BTW, not freaking out ... I have to work recovery ops from my house and have sufficient B/U power for about 10 hours but my Router was the weak link,

I just tried mine out and it seems like the battery is dead, it just gives a constant beep when I connect it to the wall and turn it on. I made sure the metal from the plugs on the wires are in contact with the battery contacts. I found a test sheet taped to the device that says it was tested back in November 2010. Could it be the battery is damaged from so much time sitting around? I left it plugged overnight and still nothing. Anyone else have this problem or see that it is an old device? Will Staples give me any problem for returning it?

Did you follow the instructions and plug the battery terminal in? You have to open the battery case as slide one of the terminals (the + I think) on. The beep should stop and it will charge. If not, it's defective.

I ended up returning the UPS to Office Depot, and then looked for another one. All the ones left were in newer looking white boxes, instead of the the mostly blue box the old one had. The price marked on the shelf was $45+. I took it to the register and found out it was only $10.75!!!! Definitely worth it at this price! I took it out of the box and the testing sheet says it was tested in February this year. I'm using it now. Thanks OP! I'm going to go back and get another, since the battery alone goes for between $23 and $40.

Now that most Black Friday ads are available, is there anything better than this for $10.75.
Thinking of getting another unless there is something more robust for under $30, perhaps with a USB connection to shutdown the computer. Looks like stock is down. There are only a few in my area left. Maybe the price has gone down even lower.
