I was looking for notebooks last year and the HP dv6 line had the a video radeon card with 1GB VRAM, with an optional upgrade to 2GB VRAM. I had looked it up on various forums and the consensus seemed to be that there were limiting factors elsewhere, and the 2nd GB of VRAM was superfluous; does anyone know if that's the situation with the 660 card in this unit?

Lenovo service is absolutely pathetic and laptop parts are guaranteed to fail after the warranty. Stay away from Lenovo no matter how attractive the pricing is.

Usually specs like this will run you $1000 or more. (Just about every feature you'd want in a 15.6" laptop: GTX 660M, 1080P, bluRay reader/writer?, ssd, great speakers.)

About longevity I cannot comment. The only thing I heard was the hdd tends to run a little warmer than normal and it's about 1/2 pound heavier and slightly thicker than most bargain cheap 15.6" laptops. Just curious...was that $900 the price you originally paid, or a depreciated value? Did they deduct much for keeping the hard drive?

No bluray, smaller drive, 4gb vs 8gb ram, different screen size, no SSD.

Anyone know about battery life? 6 cell with an i7 doesn't sound great and I cant seem to figure if lenovo offers a 9 cell to purchase separately.
