Sony Vaio Laptop Trade-in and Recycling Program (double the trade-in value)

Mine was received on 11/08 and is STILL "The product has arrived. Recycler is processing your package now." That's a long ass time ...

Received at product recycler on 11/2, no updates since

Done with Sony trade in, been without a laptop now for nearly 30 days (sent it 10/22).. .complete BS.

This is pissing me off now... I might just buy the laptop with my credit card (if there is a good deal going on) and try to use the GC whenever I receive it. If they don't allow it then return the laptop back.

Anyone got GC for the laptop shipped?

Said it was with the recycler and they could do nothing.

edit: after thinking about this... just adds to my complete distaste of Sony - I am going to craigslist the GC or trade it in at a gift card site, to hell with a new laptop

Best Buy trade in process takes no more than 3-4 days (multiple times).

You know, if I had known trading it in online would be so much of a hassle, I would have pushed the store more to accept it.

lol.. This deal has become a joke now... Missing so many good laptop deals waiting for these GCs...

I too am frustrated with the mail in trade in delays. If I had know, I would have fought with the store more about how the website says I can get a gift card in store. But I thought it was easier to mail it in. I've done Sony tradeins online before and they do come through. I'll give them some slack because they also have to sort through all the laptops that people traded in at the stores as well. I'm a week behind the estimated schedule. Considering that some of you have sent them in weeks before me, I'm not holding my breath. I'll wait until the estimated date that the GC should be sent out. If it hasn't been "evaluated" by then, I'll call them up. If they give me the run around, I'll start mailing off letters. In the end, I have no concern that I will get it. I will hold Sony responsible and won't take any of this "its out of our hands" BS. Sony is running the program regardless of who they are contracting to do it. It's just a matter of how much hassle involved now.

My estimated review date was Nov 14th.. which is long gone now... I called them up and they provided me the sorry excuse that they received overwhelming respose to this program and hence the delay..

Same exact scenario here......at this rate the gift card will arrive in time to be used for Black Friday 2013.

I hated the laptop I traded in or I would be really pissed.
