Sony Vaio Laptop Trade-in and Recycling Program (double the trade-in value)

all these prices are MSRP. only useful if you have a few junk laptops laying around, considering how pricey it is.

i have an old core 2 duo and it shows me $176ish. i want a t series 13.3 laptop.. MSRP is $900. i'd consider $600 a good price for the basic model, so i'd have to trade in more than $300 worth to get a decent deal.

And as far as junk... well the c2d laptops aren't that bad, I could very well use them to surf the web, do stuff NP. c2d are around 200 for trade in, you drop a core duo and the price got slash in 1/2... and for me c2d and core duo is virtually the same thing (talking about the older c2d that just got switch from core duo, and not the later ones).

I'm basically trading in 5 for 1... now that you think about it, it's not THAT cheap lol.

Got a 2010 Gateway i5 that cost me $499 brand new. Trades in for $432. I'm doing this!

Hey Warlock, did you use the online site to determine the value? I have some really old laptops (e.g. Pentium M chips, one with a Celeron), and even though they're worth next to nothing (ok, they are actually worth nothing), I think I can still get ~$300 according to the online estimator vs. dropping them off at BB for recycle. I don't want to bother bringing them in just to be told "too old, recycle only"...

did you select something wrong? let me see what you selected, pentium M should not give 300. But if the website says so and if you're right then they'll give you the amount. My store have a relatively decent tech guy, i throw him ubuntu and he was able to use the terminal to look up the spec.

My old dell inspiron 600m with Pentium M is estimated at 86$. Are you using a different URL?

the acer s3 that i got from staples last week for 250 trades in for 434...lol...

My problem is there isn't a Sony I would buy other than the Z. Starting at $1600 is rough

I have like 4 IBM T40s ($56 ea.) and a old Dell Celeron laptop sitting around. Combined is something like $250 for laptops that I've been too lazy to bring to BB to recycle, plus a few C2Ds lying around for various purposes (e.g. kids to use, 24x7 monitor for some cameras around the house, etc.) I don't feel like trading in the C2Ds as they're fine for doing what they're used for though...

I think somebody mentioned that the credits are good for only VAIO trade ins, is that true Warlock (I assume you got a gift card already)? How about for a ultrabook or one of MS' upcoming W8 tablets? (I didn't even look at the Sony product line up yet, scouring the net for a 60" tv deal ATM)

ultrabook is a go, at least i was offered those while i was in the store, but the ultra book wasn't that thin, my 2510p is almost as thin, and almost as light if not lighter, and it as an optical drive too, and i got those for like 35 bucks each (old C2D so they're cheap). I don't think 650 bucks for those ultra book is a good deal. I might just hit up an E series and call it a day.
